Saving the World Cup

The 2010 World Cup will be the biggest sports event Africa has ever hosted. South Africa will be in the spotlight of the world.

But there are a few roadblocks: Would you agree that it is hard to cheer and celebrate in the wake of 5 million HIV infected and 1.2 million orphans as a result of AIDS casualties?

Any party taking place today would be overshadowed by widespread violence and rape leaving many people traumatized.

What's the plan?

We wish we'd have a quick fix - but we don't. We are looking at a long term involvement in order to make a difference.

We are humble enough to learn from prior efforts that failed and try to build on other peoples experience.
