Saving the World Cup

The 2010 World Cup will be the biggest sports event Africa has ever hosted. South Africa will be in the focus of the world.

But there are a few roadblocks: Would you agree that it is hard to cheer in the wake of 5 million HIV infected and 1.2 million orphans as a result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic?

Any celebration taking place today would be overshadowed by widespread violence and rape leaving many people traumatized.

Looking at an amazing challenge

Despite all its problems "New South Africa" has a great story to tell. The 2010 Soccer World Cup has the potential to surprise the skeptics of this country.

We have seen a tremendous bonding experience in Germany in 2006 during the last World Cup. South Africa deserves the same kind of event. Let's all get started!
