SAVING THE WORLD CUP

The 2010 World Cup will be the biggest sports event Africa has ever hosted. South Africa will be in the spotlight of the world.

But there are a few roadblocks: Would you agree that it is hard to cheer and celebrate in the wake of 5 million HIV infected and 1.2 million orphans as a result of AIDS casualties?

Any party taking place today would be overshadowed by widespread violence and rape leaving many people traumatized.

WHAT’S THE PLAN?

We wish we’d have a quick fix – but we don’t. We are looking at a long term involvement in order to make a difference.

We are humble enough to learn from prior efforts that failed and try to build on other peoples experience.

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH

This project combines talent, funding and the interests of people in Europe and the United States in unique ways with the requirements and challenges of local organizations in South Africa.

Web 2.0 and social media will be used in many innovative ways to keep you posted, establish nCew forms of fund raising and demonstrate the overall progress in our focus areas.

OUR FOCUS AREAS

Rape prevention & empowerment for boys & young men
Rape prevention & empowerment for girls & young women
Post-rape care for victims
Orphan support
Providing access to the path of financial independence
This list could be continued but we feel that these areas need to be addressed before it is even worth looking any further. More >>
